Dodd Creative
Supply
As an art director with the Layton Design Studio at the University of Georgia, I collaborated with a team of designers to conceptualize, develop, and execute a brand identity toolkit for an art supplies store inside the Lamar Dodd School of Art.
The chosen design direction utilizes Risograph printing and collage, embracing the client’s relevant resources and access to facilities within the art school.
As a team, we facilitated client meetings in order to define the problem and scope of the project. Through collaborative workshops, mind mapping, and visual research, we presented three unique and relevant brand concepts consisting of name, voice, and visual identity.

Based on our research, we proposed a concept that incorporates contemporary design and Risograph printing—a resource the client uses daily. This direction encapsulates a bold, modular system that mirrors the dynamic nature of the arts while remaining flexible to change.
The brand’s color palette was drawn from their existing RISO inks, ensuring consistent implementation of the visual identity.

My initial logo designs contributed to the direction chosen by the client.
I collaborated with my team to refine this concept, incorporating a duotone texture to emphasize “Odd” within “Dodd”—inspired by the school’s common phrase, Keep the Dodd Odd.

The chosen logo uses the safety pin—a commonly found utilitarian object that symbolizes solidarity and safety, reflecting the inclusive and supportive spirit of the art school community. Its closed form creates a loop, representing the circular funding that sustains the retail space.
